What this covers

Most home tile jobs are decided before the tile comes out of the box. We check the subfloor for flex, measure how flat it is and look at transitions to wood, carpet and thresholds, so the new floor sits at the right height and does not crack later.

We install ceramic, porcelain, natural stone and mosaic, including large-format and wood-look plank tile. Big tiles and long planks are sensitive to flatness, so we level low spots and use leveling clips to keep edges even.

Residential Tile Installation questions

Can you tile over my existing floor?

Sometimes, if the old tile is flat, well bonded and the extra height works at doors and appliances. In most cases removal gives a better result, and we will tell you which applies at the estimate.

Do I need to buy the tile myself?

Either works. If you already have tile, we check quantity, trim pieces and lot numbers. If not, we can tell you how much to order, including overage for cuts and future repairs.

Can tile go over a wood subfloor?

Yes, with the right preparation. Wood subfloors need to be stiff enough for tile, and we usually add an uncoupling membrane or cement board so movement does not crack the grout.

How soon can we walk on the new floor?

Light foot traffic is usually fine after 24 hours. Heavy furniture and appliances should wait until the grout has cured, typically two to three days depending on the product.

Do you install backsplashes only?

Yes. A backsplash is often a one- or two-day job, with outlet extenders and clean edges at the countertop and cabinets.

Do you seal the grout?

Cement grout and most natural stone benefit from sealing, and we include it where the product calls for it. Many modern urethane and epoxy grouts do not need it.
